trinidad family photos in humboldt county | emily + tucker + sage

my summer road trip included a stop in one of my favorite places on earth, Humboldt! Emily (an incredible photographer!) contacted me to do her family photos in Trinidad. this cute little town is north of Arcata, and a special nook of redwoods and gorgeous coast line. Emily, Tucker, Sage and I hiked through the forest and emerged out into gorgeous sunset lighting. they live close by, and it’s one of their fav spots to cruise together.

I quickly fell in love with this ohana, and it was hard to leave them at the end of the shoot. Sage is a magnificent tiny being, and we held hands as we walked through the forest only a couple moments into the session! connecting with children at the beginning of each shoot is so important. with their trust, moments can unfold beautifully to document each family in the best way.

most of the year I’m home on Maui, but I certainly love my time traveling around the west coast.
