I’ve always been a little different.
Well, maybe a lot different.

I’m constantly in awe of the impact one person’s story can have on the world, and it’s that powerful humanity I am now driven to document from behind a camera.

I saved for my first digital camera by working a high school job at an ice cream parlor, and I studied film photography at university (what’s up, sexy darkroom vibes!). There, I learned how to draw out emotion and freeze powerful moments in time, and I embraced the philosophy that small, quiet instances of connection are often the most significant. That the emotion of a scene is what gives it real impact. So, whether I’m photographing a couple in love, a mother to be, a family of five, ahupua’a restoration, farms, or non-profit work, I’m always pursuing photos that capture more than simply how something looks. I want to preserve how it feels.

Shortly after photographing my first wedding, I moved to Maui where I’ve been a full-time photographer for over 10 years, and began pursuing a degree in Social Work, which led to my studies of Hawaiian culture. Even though I’ve lived here here for over a decade, I’m constantly open to learning about my beautiful island home, and that is the spirit with which I approach every photo session. The respect and love I have for the Kingdom of Hawai’i has no end. I bring this energy to each of my photo sessions, documenting humans in love and the essence and the beauty of the ‘āina together.

When I’m not cruising the beach or photographing incredible humans, you can probably spot me at the beach with my husband and son, dancing it up at a festival, or volunteering in the community. I’m a hula hooper, hip-hop dancer, and music-lover, and bringing my love of movement and art is always present in my sessions.
