Hana Hawai’i Vow Renewal
Logan and Casey married 5 years ago, and decided to do a Maui vow renewal in beautiful Hana, Hawaii. They stayed in the oceanfront bungalows at Travaasa (one of my absolute favorite places to stay for a romantic anniversary and vacation), and booked in a sunset photo shoot.
Where are the best locations for a vow renewal in Hana?
Koki Beach and Hamoa are two of my favorite beaches for vow renewals in Hana! Doing your ceremony in a place that is legal, safe and culturally appropriate is key — it’s one way to honor these beautiful islands as malihini (visitors). You can check out Hana Hwy Regulation for a solid code of conduct that I recommend everyone read that is traveling to the east side.
What time of day is best for your ceremony and photography?
As the sun rises over east Maui, I love early morning vow renewals. During sunrise, beaches tend to be empty — just with a few surfers out. Early mornings not your jam? Late afternoon is perfect for those that don’t want to wake up at the crack of down, and who don’t mind having people around for their ceremony.
Where is the best place to stay in hana?
I absolutely love Travaasa, they employ heaps of the local folks out in Hana and support Maui farms at their restaurant. It’s quiet, private and truly a special place! You can also check out VRBO for legal vacation rentals, or if you’re the adventurous type you can book a cabin or campsite at Wai’napanapa State Park.
Who can I book to officiate in Hana, Maui?
Logan and Casey decided to do their ceremony themselves, just the two of them. However, booking an officiant to do your ceremony might be your jam! I work with Hana Unity Co. for elopements, and I’d highly recommend Kamalu Fernandez (born and raised Hana) for your vow renewal if you’d like someone to guide your ceremony and offer music as well.
About the Couple
Logan and Casey had a deep spiritual energy that was palpable at their vow renewal. I was blown away by the beautiful threads of admiration, trust, love and respect that flowed back and forth between their hearts during their session.
