what are you most passionate about:

That’s a fun question! I am passionate about gentle parenting, raising healthy vegan children, having compassion for the animals, environmentalism, and the topic of a loving Creator behind it all. Also, home birthing, baby wearing, extended breastfeeding and human milk sharing (yes, the topic of breastfeeding moms creating a fuller community to where milk sharing with other moms who are in need becomes the norm is a passion of mine! haha!) I LOVE talking about anything regarding rise of consciousness. Basically how we can better restore this earth and bring it back towards its original design for future generations – to thrive and live in harmony together.

what do you do during your downtime:

There is a continual struggle to find balance between what I do with that “down time”.

After the boys go to sleep, I generally answer emails, edit a youtube video, or write for my next ebook. And I LOVE doing all of that. But having a balance between “work” time and truly “me” time is important for my mental health and well being. So when I choose to take a break from those things, I like to sit and read a book for about 30 minutes before bed. I recently finished this incredible book called “The Conscious Parent” by Shefali Tsabary. And I am now currently reading a novel my sister, Hannah, wrote called “The Other Uncle.” I’m so proud of her, she should seriously get it published. I’m hooked on it! And true family down time is when all four of us are at the beach, floating in the water and soaking up those healthy sun rays.

recommendations for families visiting Maui:

Go to “Garden Sushi” at Choice Health Bar in Lahaina for dinner! They have the most amazing full vegan sushi menu filled with dragon rolls, soba noodle soup, buddha bowls, etc. All the rolls are made with quinoa, forbidden rice and back rice. It’s so good! Mana foods grocery store in Paia is the best health food store on the island. Definitely do the road to Hana, it’s worth all the windy roads to visit the amazing beaches and hidden spots. And Baby beach in Lahaina and Baby Beach in Paia are the BEST beaches for families with little kids…hence the name “baby beach”. For the best local and organic produce go to the farmers market in Kula on Saturday mornings. You can find directions at upcountryfarmersmarket.com. Iao Valley is a nice easy hike for families with little kids filled with beautiful scenery and nature all around.
